Happy Thanksgiving

Happy Thanksgiving from INDIANA. I’m missing Jennifer Connelly for this??? Just kidding.

I’m here at my cousins’ house in Purdue country.

Yesterday, I got a ride down with a neighbor of theirs who has a daughter at Notre Dame.

Wodicka + car with strangers + a dog = awkwardness.

Skipping out on suggested festivities with the aforementioned girl, I attended some intense JV and varsity high-school basketball action. My cousin’s team beat their big rival school. The rival school had a pep band, which featured two drum sets, some bassists, and a guitarist. For some reason or another, players are introduced while the main riff of “I Believe in a Thing Called Love” is played. Random… During a stoppage of play, they played “For Whom the Bell Tolls.” Interesting stuff. I would compare them to the Chaminade pep band, except that I never actually attended a Chaminade basketball game—or any other Chaminade sporting event for that matter.

Good news for Greg: I watched CSI: NY last night. Pretty good. I mean, it’s the exact same thing as the main show, so how bad can it be?

Ate Thanksgiving lunch—yes, lunch—at one of my aunt and uncle’s friends’ house. Good times. Watched all of the Colts Vs. Lions. Watching Peyton Manning is losing its novelty for me. Something about 41-9 games just isn’t overly exciting. We knew it was over when we realized the Lions were on the field against the #1 offense. The next game was the complete opposite. Krenzel, Quinn, who cares? Any team that uses a running attack of Anthony Thomas and Thomas Jones is in trouble. It’s not surprising that I haven’t seen the Bears score an offensive TD all season in the three games I’ve watched. Vinny Testaverde had to come in and save “America’s Team” from Drew Henson’s first real attempt at NFL QB —passing against Baltimore while down by 20+ doesn’t count.

After we got back to my aunt and uncle’s house, I lost to my cousin, Daniel, in Madden, because I just couldn’t contend with the offensive monster known as Todd Pinkston. Luckily, when we finished, Spider-man, or what Fox calls “The Original Spider-man,” was on. That’s what? Nine viewings?

I watched some pathetic play from Pittsburgh’s football team again, but they won again. Grrr.

The Nets and Clippers were on. That one held my interest for a whole five minutes. I’m lying; I actually want to turn it back on now. Later.
