Sports thoughts.

The Mets won. David Wright finally made a good defensive play in fair territory. Crazy, I know.

The Spurs won the NBA finals. Hooray for defense, boring basketball, and foreign players not named Darko.

The Knicks are set to trade Kurt Thomas, master of the wide-open jumper, for Quentin Richardson, a Jamal Crawford clone who can rebound. I can’t wait. If the trade goes through, the Knicks will likely draft a Channing Frye-type player at the #8 spot.

With the season over, I wonder if the Knicks will try to trade the expiring contracts of Penny Hardway and Tim Thomas. Isiah seems enamored by a ton of players, most of whom he has no chance of obtaining (Ilgauskas, Curry, Gasol, etc). The Knicks definitely need a shot-blocking center and a perimeter defender. However, a lot of people seem to think Isiah is going the Phoenix-route with lots of quick, athletic players who don’t play defense. I miss my old, boring Knicks.
