And now for some cd reviews, because I am bored and have nothing better to do. This time I have 311’s newest release Don’t Tread on Me and Whitesnake’s greatest hits.

I was first turned on to 311 when I went to see them at Clausfest 03. Soon after I picked up Evolver, a great album. Since that time I have also picked up a greatest hits album. Therefore, Don’t Tread on Me was a first day purchase. I have to say that I am slightly disappointed. The first single off the album is also titled Don’t Tread on Me. As a single, this is a disappointment because just about every other 311 single is far superior. There are some other songs on the album that attempt to save it. These include Frolic Room, Speak Easy, and Solar Flair. Without decent songs, like these three the album would suck horribly. So, I am only going to give Don’t Tread on Me a 6. Go back to work 311 and please don’t disappoint us this time.

The second album purchase was inspired by the Whitesnake concert I saw in Myrtle Beach. I liked what I heard and thus decided a 20th Century Master’s purchase was in order. I have to say that this is emo, hair metal at it’s finest. I mean really, how could you not listen to Here I Go Again and not say, I feel you. We have all be there at some point. Then they hit you up Still of the Night, Gimme All Your Love, and Slow An’ Easy, three great sex songs. You have to get a chuckle out of those songs. You should all give Whitesnake a listen, you probably won’t like what you hear, but it will give you a damn good laugh. I give Whitesnake’s greatest hits an 8.
