I like it. Not exactly a bold new step for the Strokes though.

After listening to it three times I no longer really like that song, mostly because 1- once i heard the lyrics, I realized they make no sense (like every other Strokes song), and 2- other than the buildup to the finale, the song blows.
Oh Julian Casablancas, when will he learn.

I don’t think he needs to learn. The song makes no sense, but you said that you liked the song the first time you heard it. In order to appeal to new people that is key. I predict good things for the Strokes again.
