Starbury
Only days after once again proclaiming himself the best point guard in basketball, Stephon Marbury has requested a position change to shooting guard. Embarrassed from his nationally-televised four-point performance in Los Angeles, Marbury claims that he’s sick of being held back in Brown’s system. I guess he misses the system from last year, the one where he and Crawford chucked up shots whenever they got the ball. Larry Brown did not accede to Marbury’s demands. Who exactly does Marbury think is going to play the point with him at the two? Jamal Crawford, the guy who keeps launching ridiculous shots and looks lost in the offense? Nate Robinson, the guy who recklessly drives to the basket on every play? Penny Hardaway, the guy who isn’t even in the rotation anymore? Marbury, it’s time to just deal with it.
In baseball news, Mike Cameron was traded for some guy from the Padres. With all the money the Mets are saving, they’ll have a good chance at Billy Wagner, Carlos Delgado, Benjie Molina, Manny Ramirez, Rafael Furcal, and every other player the Mets are supposedly getting, either from trade or free agency.
Right.

Well it was only a matter of time before Marbury and Brown butted heads.
The Mets traded Cameron to dump some salary, but Xavier Nady is not the bad. He is capable of playing all of the outfield positions and first base. Sources have also said the he could be used as trade bait for Danny Baez, if Wagner returns to Phili. Asside from Wagner, the Mets next priority is supposedly working out a deal for Delgado. The Mets have also seemed to have given up on Furcal, they believe he is going to sign with the Cubs. There has not been much talk about what is going on at catcher, except that the Japanese catcher cancelled his scheduled visit with the team today.

I heard they might get Huff in any deal for Baez.
