Sports don’t like me.

So, last night, the Knicks, Rangers, and Jets all lost. Also, I came up short in both of my fantasy football leagues—I lost to Sheppard’s team 159.87-158.53. It was close. I think Sheppard needs to thank Julius Jones for his 194-yard, two-TD performance on Sunday.

With their loss, the Knicks moved to the bottom of the ESPN Power Rankings. As we all know, ESPN Power Rankings are more important than the actual standings, which explains why I revolve my Tuesday afternoons around them. Since the Knicks don’t have a first-round draft pick next year—the one from the Spurs doesn’t count—, I just hope Isiah gets fired. Otherwise, this entire season will have been wasted. It’s one thing to see your team lose, but it’s much worse without the possibility of having a high draft pick.

The Jets lost again and now have a legitimate shot at getting Reggie Bush. They just need the Texans and Saints to win their games. Don’t hold your breath. Even if the Jets don’t get Bush, they’ll still be able to fill a need by drafting anybody who can play QB, RB, WR, OT, OG, NT, CB, S, etc. Yes, the Jets have that many holes on their team. Bollinger probably isn’t the answer as a #1 QB, and don’t even mention Chad. Cedric Houston isn’t a big-play back. At best, he could probably become a Curtis Martin-type player, but is that what they really need? Coles and McCareins are softees who, unlike Santana Moss, can’t get downfield. The offensive line is aging. Lance Legree and company can’t fill Ferguson’s shoes at NT. Ty Law will be gone. David Barrett is terrible—last night, he got burned by Mike Vrabel, a linebacker. Erik Coleman has regressed.

If Herm leaves for KC after the season, who do you want as coach next season? Brian Billick or Jim Fassel would probably be available. Greg might prefer a guy like Mike Martz who will throw the ball 40 times a game.

  1. I can’t believe Wright made three errors in one game. He should probably stop doing that.

  2. He should probably try to, I don’t know, start hitting again. That would be a big help, especially with Floyd and Beltran out.

How do two pitchers with ERAs over 8.00 pitch back-to-back one-run complete games against the Mets? Forget winning the division, how about we take a series at home against a good team? Yeah, that would be a plus.

Trachsel against Peavy. Could get ugly.
