And who didn’t love the Puritans?
So, while no NFL coaches have looked into buying my house, I figured it was time for a short update. You know, just to fill you in on my life.
Yes, I’ve never seen Eternal Sunshine…. It’s pretty unfortunate if I do say so myself. While I don’t particularly care for Jim Carrey (if you’re keeping track, add him onto the growing list of actors for whom I have an unexplained, unwarranted disdain), I obviously have a hopeless crush on Kristen Dunst. In real life, she would never talk to me, and my crush is only based on her portrayal of Mary Jane in the Spider-Man movies and little else. I was about to list all of her other movies and explain why those didn’t contribute to my crush on her but then thought better of it, because I don’t want to admit to seeing… Oh, almost got me there.
On Saturday, a day when my mailbox was not empty, I received four CDs from BMG. I might write full reviews at some point (who am I kidding?). Until then, I leave you with this.
The Velvet Underground – White Light/White Heat: This album is weird. Trust me, I know—I tried to listen to it while sleeping.
The Raveonettes – Pretty In Black: You know the above band? The Raveonettes sound like them. I hear that Sharin is angelic, but that has no bearing on the music.
Wilco – Yankee Hotel Foxtrot: I finally bought this critically-acclaimed masterpiece.
The Beach Boys – Pet Sounds: Second-best album ever? Maybe not. If you don’t like the Beach Boys… You know the rest.
