How to lose a close game against a ranked team.

I know there was some sort of political event yesterday. However, I am not going to mention it. Watch the Colbert Report for your political news.

Here I am, throwing a ball against the wall. A stress ball to be exact. I got it from the ESPN woman at the career fair. Oh, the career fair… about that… It doesn’t look like I’m nearly qualified enough for any internships. What does that mean for me? That means I need to find something else on my own.

How does this sound:

We are looking for ‘work-a-holics’ that aren’t afraid to work long hours and get their hands dirty… The Ducks are looking for aggressive personalities that can handle multiple responsibilities.
Yeah, that isn’t me. Long hours? Getting my hands dirty? Aggressive? Right…

With February finally here, it can only mean one thing. That’s right, it’s time to start thinking about summer music festivals.

Here’s the Coachella lineup (via Pitchfork).

Saturday, April 29:

Depeche Mode, Franz Ferdinand, Sigur Ros, Common, Damian Marley, Atmosphere, Carl Cox, My Morning Jacket, Ladytron , Clap Your Hands Say Yeah, Tosca, Cat Power, Animal Collective, Hard-Fi, Derrick Carter, Devendra Banhart, She Wants Revenge, The Walkmen, The Juan Maclean, Audio Bullys, Imogen Heap, Lady Sovereign, Deerhoof, The Duke Spirit, Editors, stellastarr*, Lyrics Born, Matt Costa, The New Amsterdams, The Zutons, Platinum Pied Pipers, White Rose Movement, Chris Liberator, Colette, Joey Beltram, Hybrid, Wolfmother, The Like, Living Things, Nine Black Alps, The Section Quartet, Infadels, Youth Group, Shy FX & T Power, Infusion

Sunday, April 30:

Tool, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Bloc Party, Paul Oakenfold, Scissor Sisters, Matisyahu, James Blunt, TV on the Radio, Sleater-Kinney , Mogwai, Coheed and Cambria, Gnarls Barkley, Coldcut, Phoenix, Digable Planets, Amadou & Mariam, Little Louie Vega, Mylo (DJ Set), Seu Jorge, Wolf Parade, The Go! Team, Kaskade, Metric, Art Brut, Dungen, The Dears, Jamie Lidell, The Magic Numbers, Los Amigos Invisibles, Jazzanova, Michael Mayer, Mates of State, Gilles Peterson, Gabriel & Dresden, The Subways, Minus the Bear, Be Your Own Pet, Giant Drag, Kristina Sky, The Octopus Project

I think my goal in life is one day to attend Coachella. Unfortunately, it occurs right around finals… It’s so tragic. I have to choose between my future as a failed writer and several days of amazing music. I’ll pick the former everytime.

If you’re not into Coachella, Bonnaroo takes places on June 16 in Manchester, TN. You can hear the likes of Radiohead, Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers, Beck, Death Cab for Cutie, Bright Eyes, Ben Folds, My Morning Jacket, Cat Power, Stephen Malkmus & the Jicks, Clap Your Hands Say Yeah, and Seu Jorge. It’s pretty solid, if I say so myself.

Someone should take me to that. Really.

  1. All of those look pretty solid and Cobert is def the best source for your political news. I was watching a rerun the other day and he asked one of bush’s advisors if his nickname was stretch becuase he stretches the truth. Clearly, the greatest news show in the world.

  2. i remember i was dissappointed when i first saw the coachella lineup. i remember seeing a fake flyer that had Smashing Pumpkins headlining day 2, but alas. some good bands, sure, but eh, i remember it being stronger in years past.

radiohead at bonaroo is cool, but i’m just going to see them on tour this summer anyway.

  3. Does this mean it’s time to start talking about music festivales that are going to be canceled?

  4. roadtrip? to the Tenneesse concert anyone?

  5. I would…

I also heard the Smashing Pumpkins rumor. Bleh.

  6. Death Cab and Bright Eyes on the same stage? I would die of happiness. And then get resuscitated and bone Conor Oberst.
